Rasam Powder

Ingredients

  • 100 gms Toor dal
  • 100 gms Pepper
  • 12 to 15 Red chillies
  • 100 gms Jeera (cumin seeds)
  • 200gms Dhania (coriander seeds)
  • 4 pieces Turmeric
  • 2 to 3 inches Asafoetida (hing)

Instructions

Roast the Ingredients

Roast the ingredients one by one
Roast the pepper.
Roast the dhania till aromatic
Roast the Toor dal until golden brown.
Roast the red chillies.
Roast the jeera in a dry, hot pan just for 2 stirs.

Note: Roast all these ingredients separately on a low to medium flame.

Cool the Ingredients

Let all the roasted ingredients cool completely.

Grinding

Grind all the cooled, roasted ingredients and asafoetida to a fine powder.

Storing

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
